Christine Yee, PhD is a Health Economist at Boston University and the Partnered Evidence-based Policy Resource Center. Her current role consists of producing evidence-based information to address important health care policy questions related to improving VHA management efficiency and outcomes for veterans. Her research has focused on factors that influence health care utilization, cost, and quality. She has published on issues related to physician incentives, provider behavior, payment structures, ownership of surgery centers, adherence to treatment guidelines, bundled payments, variation in treatment patterns, and effectiveness of certain health management policies. More recently, Dr. Yee has focused her research on the role of telemedicine in expanding the health care workforce, access and capacity of the VHA, and the relationship between health and financial outcomes. Dr. Yee earned her B.S. in mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
