Kritee Gujral joined as a health economist at the Health Economics Resource Center in July 2020. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Florida and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Health Economics at the CHOICE institute, University of Washington. She has prior experience working as an international tax analyst at Ernst & Young, Economics Instructor at the University of Florida, and research analyst for the Institute of Child Health Policy (Gainesville, Florida), as well as for internationally-focused non-profits.
Her research broadly focuses on Health Policy, with specialized interests in mental health & suicide prevention, rural health, telehealth, and disparities in health care access and outcomes. Her research has appeared in JAMA Network Open, PLOS One, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and Contemporary Economic Policy. Her work has been highlighted to VA leadership on several occasions, and has received coverage by media outlets such as Politico, Reuters Health, NBC News, The Brookings Institution, Iowa Public Radio, VoxEU, and NDTV (India), among others.
